SETTING:

This story takes place in the area of Two Bridges in New York City. It's the area between the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges. It's an area yet untouched by the encroaching gentrification of New York. In the periphery of the neighborhood, huge skyscrapers are being constructed, disturbing the people of Two Bridges. Many of the kids in the neighborhood spend their time skating in the skatepark under the Manhattan Bridge. Other kids, 'Wheelies', spend their time roaming the surrounding neighborhoods on bikes, antagonizing people.

Underneath the city of New York, are a network of tunnels that most New Yorkers use everyday: the subway. These tunnels were built by start-up companies in the early 1900s to help ease the rapid growth of NYC’s transit, electrical, water, and sewage needs. The tunnels were built by cheap first generation immigrant labor in dangerous conditions. Although many subways were unified into the modern subway system, there are hundreds of miles of tunnels completely unused, undocumented and forgotten.

New buildings are being built taller, and foundations are being dug deeper. Once in a while, the deepest constructions unearth tunnels no one ever knew about, and collapse others.
